United By Blue’s Third Annual Schuylkill River Spring Cleanup
We’ve gathered quite the collection of trash at Bartram’s Garden over the past three years, but the first cleanup of the season always has the biggest haul (and weirdest trash). During our 2011 and 2012 cleanup season openers, we pulled a total of 2,102 pounds out of trash from the Schuylkill River.

On the first Tuesday of the month, UBB hosts a Schuylkill River cleanup at Bartram’s Garden where we collect an absurd amount of plastic bottles.
Our plastic bottle count so far:

That’s 2,153 plastic bottles pulled from the Schuylkill River during 6 evening cleanups that would have entered our oceans.
